On March 16, students in the 2025 Science Writing Advancing Global & Planetary Health (SWAP) program showcased their community-engaged science projects on global and planetary health.
A collaboration between the Stanford Center for Innovation in Global Health, Stanford Center for Human & Planetary Health, Notation in Science Communication, and Master’s in Environmental Communication, SWAP paired students with global and planetary health researchers to develop a portfolio of strategic communications resources.
During the final showcase, which followed the mid-year showcase in December, students shared their projects ranging from comic books about a parasitic disease called schistosomiasis, to culturally tailored videos about dengue virus, to op-eds about a cooking fuel crisis impacting Rohingya refugees (co-authored by youth leaders from the Rohingya community!).
